At Girls on the Run we inspire ALL girls to build confidence and make intentional decisions, while fostering care and compassion for self and others. Trained coaches use physical activity and dynamic discussions to build social, emotional and physical skills in every girl while encouraging healthy habits for life.
Girls face social pressures and conflicting messages about how they should act and who they should be. Studies show that by adolescence, girls’ confidence drops about twice as much as boys’. Stressors related to COVID-19 have undoubtedly affected girls, between social isolation, anxiety and more limited opportunities for physical activity.

Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful (KTMB) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to creating a more sustainable and beautiful region through waste reduction, education, and active community involvement. KTMB is an affiliate of the national organization Keep America Beautiful. Working with you, we will become America’s cleanest community!
A recent example of Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful’s awesome community participation was leading the volunteer effort to plant the hundreds of flowers on both side of the new huge mural at Locomotion Plaza in downtown Reno. If you have not visited Locomotion Plaza, located between the Whitney Peak and Eldorado hotels, get there soon!
