Course Information

The Reno 10 Miler and Relay is a one-of-a-kind course showcasing the beautiful University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) campus and Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. The race starts in the iconic campus center, Gateway Plaza, then weaves its way through the campus passing the stadium, ball fields, impressive architecture, and rounding the spectacular quad.

You will then cross into Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, one of Reno’s most beautiful and renowned parks. Enjoy a hilly, challenging loop consisting mostly of off-road trails. Please be prepared for gravel, dirt, and grassy trails. Soak up the beauty of Rancho’s many gorgeous ponds, fields, and groves before completing the loop and returning to UNR.

When you re-enter UNR, you will now run the first third of the race again, but in reverse! Follow the course back to the shared start/finish line and step straight into the Finish Line Festival held within Gateway Plaza. This world class course will quickly become one of your favorites for its variety, beauty, and challenge. There will be three aid stations, one on each leg.

Relay Information

The event can be run as a 2-3 person relay race where you will be issued a slap bracelet to use as your baton (like in the Reno-Tahoe Odyssey!). You may split up the 3 legs between your teammates however you’d like. There will be a designated exchange area near the start/finish where you can watch for your teammate to come in, exchange with them, and then start the next leg. You’ll want to plan with your teammates who is going to run which leg and what your team’s name will be. Teams are encouraged to wear/make matching shirts or costumes!

If running this as a team relay, Leg 1 is the first loop through UNR, Leg 2 is the loop through Rancho San Rafael, and Leg 3 is the reverse loop through UNR. Again, please know that the course within Leg 2/Rancho San Rafael will consist of off-road trails; we advise you to wear appropriate footwear.

  • Leg 1: 3.1 miles
  • Leg 2: 3.9 miles (mostly off-road)
  • Leg 3: 3.1 miles
