14th Leprechaun Race 5K Run/Walk (March 15, 2026)

**Registration growth from 2024 to 2025: 20%

This is a fun, family-friendly 5K great for walkers and recreational runners who participate with their whole family. Participants have fun trying to beat the real live leprechaun. Vendors, DJ and a bagpiper are on the scene. Reno Running Co. Races usually contributes $5,000 of the net proceeds to the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum. Participants get into the museum for free on race day. The 2025 event sold out.

Experience one of Reno’s premier running events! The Biggest Little Half Marathon, 10K & 5K, where every stride takes you through the heart of downtown, along the scenic Truckee River, and into west Reno’s vibrant neighborhoods before returning to the city center.

55th Journal Jog 8K Run/Walk (August 23, 2026)

**Registration growth from 2024 to 2025: 17%

This 8K running stroller & run/walk is often referred to as Reno’s Oldest Footrace. It is a Reno tradition for many people. This race has a unique running stroller division. A portion of the net proceeds fund The Ku Stevens Legacy Scholarship, a scholarship for a high school senior in the Nevada high school running community and who is planning to go to college. Reno Running Co. Races donates to non-profit groups who help with the event. The 2025 Journal Jog sold out!

5th Rock Reno Half Marathon, Relay & 5K (October 4, 2026)

Rock Reno Half Marathon is a running event like no other in Reno! This is Reno’s only point-to-point half marathon. The course takes runners from the Sportsdome in South Reno to downtown finishing at Greater Nevada Field, the home of the Reno Aces! There is also an option to participate as a 2-person relay along the half marathon course. The 5K run/walk starts and finishes at Greater Nevada Field. The 2025 Rock Reno sold out!

8th Dirty Wookie 10K & 5K (October 25, 2026)

The Dirty Wookie 10K & 5K is a fun Halloween running event. Runners start at The Brewer’s Cabinet Production Facility in West Reno, run through Idlewild Park and finish at the J Resort Glow Plaza. Many participants dress in costume for this Halloween weekend! The 2025 Dirty Wookie sold out!

The Reno-Tahoe Odyssey (RTO) is one of the most celebrated endurance events in the region – a 178-mile overnight relay! Starting and finishing in Reno, teams of runners travel around majestic Lake Tahoe, through mountain passes, forest trails, and historic towns, in an unforgettable journey of camaraderie and challenge.
