SUMMARY:Reno Running Fest
DESCRIPTION:2nd Annual Reno Mile\, 9/7\n51st Annual Journal Jog\, 9/8\n\nReno Mile\nThe one mile route will be entirely on Virginia Street in downtown Reno. We will close Virginia Street from Court Street to 6th Street. The race route will be an out and back course. This is typical of most mile races on city streets in the United States. You will run under the famous Reno Arch twice. The start line and finish line will be outside of the Old Post Office at 50 S. Virginia Street in downtown Reno. We have posted a map of the Reno Mile course here. \nJournal Jog\nCourse Description » \nAs the Journal Jog begins its next half century\, we thought it was the right time to shift the start and finish lines to Idlewild Park which will make for a better runner experience. The course otherwise will remain the same fast 8K track through scenic and historic old southwest Reno.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Leprechaun Race\, a 5K run and walk in Reno\, Nevada through the Midtown and Wells Avenue districts. It is family friendly. This is a great first 5K for new runners. Costumes are encouraged. \nYes\, there will be a speedy leprechaun in the race. The leprechaun will start after everyone else has begun\, giving everyone a generous head start. If you beat the leprechaun across the finish line\, you will win a special prize. \nDon’t despair if the leprechaun beats you to the finish. For every runner and walker who the leprechaun passes\, the leprechaun’s pot of gold will grow in size. Who will benefit from the increased pot of gold? The Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum (The Discovery)\, who is Race178’s non profit partner in the event. \nThe first 6 years of this event Race178 has made a large donation to the Discovery Museum: $5\,000 each year. If another huge field of 1\,500 runners and walkers shows up\, we will make this type of donation again in 2019.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Reno 10 Miler & Relay\, a 10 mile run for individuals or a 2 or 3 person relay for teams of runners. This race is the 2nd counting towards the 4-Race Medal (either individual or relay counts) and the 2017 Point Series (individual only counts). \nThe race starts and finishes in downtown Reno\, Nevada and passes through the University of Nevada campus and other scenic and historic neighborhoods. Elite runners battle for prize money. \nThis event is what the title says\, a 10 mile run. Just beyond a 10K (6.2 miles). But not quite as far as a half marathon (13.1 miles).
